Mission

Our mission is to provide effective, efficient, and impartial legal services to the Government and people of Sierra Leone.

Vision

Aligned with our country’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (2024-2030), the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice aspires to build inclusive and accountable justice institutions in Sierra Leone. This is to ensure that all citizens benefit from a fair, impartial, and effective justice delivery process. We aim to achieve this by facilitating increased access to justice, expediting judicial processes, protecting human rights, ensuring respect for the rule of law, and fostering equal protection under the law.

Functions of The Ministry

The Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice is established by Section 64 (1) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, Act No. 6 of 1991. Under this legal framework, the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice holds three primary mandates:
